PA INDIAN LAKE — Indian Lake Borough Council authorized advertisement of a 20-foot depth restriction for wake surfing while tabling a parallel proposal to limit wake-enhanced boat registrations. The council voted unanimously for the depth restriction resolution, which will move to public hearing and enactment in May. Scott Moore moved authorization; Bill Lewis seconded.
A $24,500 Water Environment Consultants study on boat wake impacts was tabled to allow consultant Adam Locke to submit a competing proposal. Bill Lewis will chair a new Boating Working Group to include community members in future discussions. The council also unanimously approved four ordinance revisions covering council meetings, planning procedures, holding tanks, and garbage collection; rejected all bids for borough building renovations after both bids exceeded the $35,000 budget; and approved bills totaling $45,088.47.
