PA INDIAN LAKE — Indian Lake Borough Council defers ice-retardant ordinance after resident opposition. Council President Dick Stern said the ordinance would be "adapted to the situation" after property owners objected to prohibitions on de-icing systems for seawalls, boathouses, and boat lifts, and expressed concern about conversion costs exceeding six thousand dollars per hundred feet of shoreline. Greg Dorsch, ordinance sponsor, presented Elite Dock Bubblers representative Frankie DeNardo, who explained that bubbler systems open three feet of water and cost significantly less to operate than propeller systems.
The Council separately voted unanimously to approve bills of ninety-two thousand one hundred ninety-eight dollars and fifty-seven cents, accept Officer Barry Barron's resignation effective August 4, 2026, adopt a revision to Ordinance 203 on boathouse dimensions, and approve a Marina Conditional Use Application.
